About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and supportive Academic Support Specialist to join our team at Thomas Middlecott Academy. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to ensure that students receive the support they need to flourish within the academy.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with children with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties, and will be able to provide data to senior staff as required. The role will involve managing Pastoral Support Plans and student case studies, as well as undertaking work/care/support programmes to enable access to learning for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with students, teachers, and parents to provide support and guidance
  • Manage Pastoral Support Plans and student case studies
  • Undertake work/care/support programmes to enable access to learning for students
  • Assist with the development and implementation of behaviour management strategies

Requirements

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) in mathematics and English
  • Proven experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties
  • Understanding of the structure and operation of an academy environment
