Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Scientist with strong leadership skills to join our team as a Higher Principal Clinical Scientist (Band 8b). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading proton treatment planning or dosimetry, ensuring high-quality services that meet clinical needs. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Deputise for the Radiotherapy Physics Proton Team Leader, assist in managing department activities, and lead on scientific direction of the proton physics service.
  • Scientific and Technical Expertise: Provide expert advice on clinical techniques, perform highly accurate dosimetry, and ensure equipment remains within clinically acceptable tolerances.
  • Research and Development: Initiate and lead R&D projects, supervise staff, and publish research in internationally recognised journals.
  • Teaching and Training: Supervise staff, develop project ideas, and propose projects for M.Sc. students.
Requirements
  • HCPC registration required
  • Significant experience in Medical Physics
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, £62,449 - £82,619 per annum, plus benefits including pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave.
