About the Role

The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced physiotherapist to join our Neurosurgical team as an Advanced Physiotherapist - Neurosurgical Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist physiotherapist to develop their expertise in the neurosurgical management of spasticity and work with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients with long-term neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients with spasticity and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Work collaboratively with neurosurgeons, neurologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care to patients
  • Deliver and coordinate interventions to patients, including intrathecal baclofen pump refills and nerve block procedures
  • Support the assessment and treatment of patients at the weekly intrathecal baclofen pump refill clinic
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to spasticity management
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Health & Care Professions Council Registration
  • Extensive post-registration clinical experience at a senior level
  • Previous experience of assessment and treatment of neurological and long-term conditions
  • Able to plan and carry out a complex and demanding workload
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent in a relevant specialism
  • Experience of delivering on key quality performance indicators
  • Experience in staff and performance management
