About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join our team at MacStaff. As a key member of our building services team, you will be responsible for managing mechanical contracts and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contract Management: Attend post-tender pre-contract review meetings with clients and main contractors to discuss and agree contract scope, commercial, and contractual matters.
  2. Equipment Procurement: Carry out initial equipment checks alongside our design team and advise on any concerns to avoid procurement, programming, or financial implications.
  3. Subcontract and Material Management: Develop equipment procurement and buying schedules, send out enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors, and place orders to satisfy contract requirements.
  4. Site Management: Monitor site labour, record site activities, and conduct cost checks against tender estimates.
  5. Client Liaison: Liaise with clients to implement site inductions, permits, and develop sequenced working programmes.
  6. Health and Safety: Monitor mechanical and electrical health and safety issues on site, develop risk assessments, method statements, and COSHH assessments.
  7. Quality Control: Monitor site quality issues and enforce a strict code of specification compliance.
  8. Procurement: Carry out general ordering of plant, material, and hire equipment in a cost-effective manner.
  9. Design Meetings: Attend progress design meetings to develop on-site progress with main contractors, clients, and other members of the contract design teams.
  10. Documentation: Populate and record spreadsheets for daywork variation costings, hand-mark up construction drawings, and assist with the preparation of O&M manuals and plant maintenance schedules.
  11. Handover and Settlement: Attend handover meetings with main contractors and client representatives for system tuition, and attend post-contract completion commercial settlement meetings.
Requirements

To be successful as a Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will have strong management experience within the building services sector. You will be responsible for managing mechanical contracts and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, inclusive, 0800 – 1700hrs less 1hr lunch break.
