Design Manager Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead our design team in the development of innovative storage solutions for industrial applications. As a key member of our MacStaff team, you will be responsible for ensuring the design team delivers high-quality designs that meet customer requirements and drive sales success.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Manage the design team's workload and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery of projects
* Develop and implement design strategies to maximize sales and revenue growth
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and quality information exchange
* Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 regulations and mitigate design risks
* Develop and coach the engineering team to achieve career plans and improve core capabilities
* Manage design KPIs, including department errors, SLAs, and profit margins

**Requirements**

* Diploma/Degree in mechanical or general engineering with a focus on engineering maths, design, and science
* Full UK driving license
* Proven experience as a design manager or similar leadership role in a fast-paced manufacturing and sales environment
* Drawing software (AutoCAD packages) and IT literacy
* Strong knowledge of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
* Commercial awareness and excellent mentoring and coaching skills
