About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our House Team in delivering exceptional collections care and practice, visitor welcome, and day-to-day operations. As the senior lead, you'll be responsible for managing a team to implement preventive conservation and cleaning programs, ensuring excellent standards of care and delivering strategies to improve conservation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team to implement preventive conservation and cleaning programs
  • Deliver strategies to improve conservation and collections care
  • Plan and implement budgets, conservation projects, and daily opening of the house
  • Collect and record information to inform our understanding of the house and collection
  • Lead by example, ensuring a culture of excellent customer care and engaging visitors with conservation and the values and behaviors of the National Trust

What We're Looking For

  • Outstanding people leadership skills and experience of working with and managing staff and volunteers
  • Operational experience of collections management and care in an historic environment, including relevant collections management systems
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of preventive conservation and its practical, strategic application
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Emergency Procedures
  • Good organisational skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
