Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water Operations Manager to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our water treatment facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Controlling and auditing site activity to ensure the safety of the team, contractors, and other third parties.
- Managing a team of Slow Sand Filter Operators and a Working Supervisor to perform effectively against internal and external targets.
- Delivering increasing levels of customer experience and optimizing service delivery.
- Preparing reports and presentations for key stakeholders as required.
- Ensuring the team is in line with production plans and service agreements are met.
- Working with the Technical team to ensure assets are available and in sound working order.
- Managing budgets and costs to ensure you are meeting and exceeding tight financial targets while maintaining quality.
- Ensuring the continued operability of the Slow Sand Filter team's mobile plant, by certifying effective maintenance, helping diagnose faults, and working with the mobile plant maintenance contractors.
Requirements
- Previous experience managing and supporting a team while coordinating team activity.
- Previous water experience would be beneficial, as well as knowledge of the clean water process.
- Previous industry experience would be beneficial, as would previous operation of a mobile plant.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, alongside excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a demonstrable ability to manage workload under pressure.
- Confidence in presenting key findings and liaising with managers of all levels.
- A strong background in process management with excellent skills in operations, engineering, finance, H&S, stakeholder engagement, and customer focus.
- A valid, UK driving license is required.

- Competitive salary up to £44,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.

- 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
