About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled UX Researcher to join our team at Rail Delivery Group. As a key member of our Product Team, you will be responsible for conducting user research to improve the customer experience with our Passenger Assist system.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize research initiatives and advocate for a human-centered approach. Your key responsibilities include conducting user research, translating user insights into product requirements, and ensuring a customer-focused approach is upheld throughout the development lifecycle.

You will also develop comprehensive deployment plans, create readiness plans, and deliver training materials to educate Train Operating Companies on the use of the Passenger Assist toolkit.

To succeed in this role, you will need prior experience in user experience research, strong communication skills, and the ability to present a compelling narrative with data to influence stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct user research to gather detailed requirements from various stakeholders
  • Translate user insights into detailed product requirements and feature specifications
  • Define comprehensive business requirements, including data requirements, functional specifications, and non-functional requirements
  • Advocate for user needs and experiences throughout the development lifecycle
  • Communicate research findings and user insights to team members
  • Ensure user feedback and requirements are accurately represented in product features and designs
  • Work closely with the solution design and development teams to prioritize features
  • Validate customer insights with support from the Business Relationship Manager
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of research methodologies, findings, and recommendations
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to share research insights and progress
  • Develop a comprehensive deployment plan outlining steps, timelines, and responsibilities for the rollout of the PA toolset
  • Create a readiness plan to ensure TOCs and CCs are prepared for go-live
  • Develop training materials and programmes to educate TOCs on specific functionalities of the PA toolkit
  • Ensure comprehensive training and communication strategies are in place for TOCs and CCs
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to ensure TOCs are fully prepared to use the new features effectively
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to TOCs during the readiness phase
  • Coordinate go-live planning and user readiness activities to ensure a smooth transition
