Senior Family Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Family & Systemic Psychotherapist to join our team at Oasis Restore Secure School (ORSS). ORSS is a pioneering Secure School in the UK, providing a unique opportunity to work with children and families in a trauma-informed environment.
Main Responsibilities- Deliver trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care to children and families, considering their developmental needs and the impact of their experiences on their current strengths, needs, and difficulties.
- Develop and lead on therapeutic relationships with children and their families, ensuring a comprehensive and highly specialist therapeutic service.
- Provide specialist systemic assessment and therapy, as well as advice and consultation to the wider health team and residential/education team within the school.
- Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, actively engaging in and supporting duty and emergency rotas, peer support, training, and skills development.

Person Specification- A recognised professional post-graduate (MSc level or equivalent) qualification in Systemic Family Therapy.
- Evidence of post-qualification specialist training, experience, and developing expertise in a specialist area of clinical practice.
- Pre- or post-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training, and/or other systemic approaches.
- Completion of supervisor training course.
- Reflective practice training and experience.
- Post-qualification training in a recognised psychological therapy for trauma.
- Post-qualification experience and training in neurodevelopmental assessment and intervention.
- Post-graduate training or experience in a forensic or education setting.
- Experience of working with adolescents/children.
- Advanced knowledge, experience, and expertise in at least one specialist area of clinical practice gained through specialist training and supervised practice.
- Experience of teaching and training.
- Experience of representing systemic family therapy within the context of multidisciplinary care.
- Experience of working with neurodevelopmental difficulties among children.
- Understands developmental issues for children and able to adapt interventions accordingly.
- Understands the need for and able to competently assess risk.
- Understands individual and service safeguarding responsibilities, policy, and procedure.
- Experience of providing consultation and liaison support to colleagues, referral agencies, and services responsible for the care, support, and wellbeing of service users and their families/carers.
- Able to promote self-management and recovery by working with children and their families to understand their condition and identify and reinforce strengths, resources, and coping skills.
