We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head of Lighting and Sound to join our team at Royal & Derngate. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians, supporting the delivery of diverse productions, and overseeing the maintenance of venue spaces and technical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Head of Lighting and Sound in the general duties of the department and operation of lighting, sound, and AV equipment and systems.
- Assist with show fit-ups and get-outs, and the running of rehearsals and performances.
- Support and collaborate with the Technical, Production, and Creative Learning departments.
- Support the management and organisation of the theatre's stores.
- Minimum of three years of professional industry experience.
- Proven experience working in a technical role in a busy receiving house, production house, or large-scale touring experience.
- Proven experience in managing full & part-time staff.
- Proven experience at a supervisory level in either Electrics or Sound.
- Experience working within a venue with a large and active education programme.
- Proven experience in the technical delivery of produced work in repertory theatre.
We are looking for a candidate with excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. If you have a passion for lighting, sound, and AV services, and a commitment to live performance, we want to hear from you.
