Highly Skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Wanted for Intensive Outreach Position

This is an exceptional opportunity to join Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust as a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for the Intensive Outreach Team. As a highly skilled professional, you will play a vital role in assessing and reviewing young people with complex presentations and highest risks.
Main Responsibilities
- To deliver direct interventions to service users at a level of intensity according to need, including those who require an assertive approach due to difficulties in engagement.
- Provide advice to members of the Multi-Disciplinary Teams in CIOT, ensuring effective collaboration and decision-making.
- Regular attendance at CIOT MDT meetings and board rounds to facilitate seamless communication and problem-solving.
- Assessment and treatment of outpatients in clinics, prioritizing their needs and delivering high-quality care.
- Visit patients in their own place of residence if clinically indicated, demonstrating empathy and compassion.
- Liaise with other parts of the service, GPs, and non-NHS organisations to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
- Foster strong relationships with community CAMHS and Inpatient services, facilitating smooth handovers between teams.
- Contribute actively to team and personal caseload management and supervision, promoting a culture of mutual support and growth.

Salary Details
The salary for this position is estimated to be around £110,000 - £130,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Full GMC Registration or eligibility to be included on the register, holding a current licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of gaining CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Section 12 approval/Approved Clinician Status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Experience and Skills
- A wide breadth of clinical experience working with children and young people with mental health problems and their families.
- Knowledge and evidence of participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Evidence of effective multidisciplinary team involvement and collaboration.
- Evidence of effective multi-agency working.
Personal and Clinical Skills
- To possess leadership skills and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage own time, workload, and prioritise clinical work effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients, carers, and staff.
- Skills in psychiatric assessment, formulation, and risk management, including safeguarding and psychopharmacology in children, neurodevelopmental disorders, and attachment difficulties.
