Senior Accounts Payable Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Lead to join our dynamic finance team at EG Group, one of the world's leading independent convenience retailers. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to leverage your expertise in managing accounts payable processes and lead a team of specialists to drive efficiency and accuracy.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounts payable, including processing invoices, reconciliations, and supplier management. With a strong focus on process improvement, you will work closely with the financial controller to identify opportunities for enhancement and implement new technologies to streamline operations.

Key Responsibilities:- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and discrepancies.
- Develop and implement effective controls and procedures to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Collaborate with the financial controller to identify process improvements and implement changes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to track performance and monitor key metrics.
- Provide guidance and training to junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounts payable role, preferably within a fast-paced retail or FMCG environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiar with ERP systems.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure, meeting deadlines and achieving targets.
- A competitive salary ranging from £27,000 to £36,575 per annum, depending on experience.
