Job Summary

The University of Cambridge is seeking a skilled Facilities and Reception Manager to join its Business Team. This is a key role that requires a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to manage the main site at the Institute of Metabolic Science on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

Main Responsibilities

  • Management of the main site at the Institute of Metabolic Science, including liaison with the University of Cambridge and Addenbrooke's Hospital estates departments for other sites on the campus.
  • Provision of advice and assistance for the facilities management of other sites in Cambridgeshire.
  • Ensuring the provision of satisfactory infrastructure services for staff and visitors, including building maintenance and security access, cleaning, hospitality, and meeting room provision.
  • Liaising with facilities providers and supporting the Health and Safety Co-ordinator to ensure the department meets required standards.
  • Management of three Administrative Assistants who undertake reception duties and other members of staff that may be recruited to support Facilities and Reception.

  • Excellent inter-personal skills and experience of problem solving and people management.
  • Terrific organisational skills and experience of health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work in a busy and reactive environment.
