Job Title: Consultant in Older Adult Psychiatry- Weymouth CMHT

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Older Adult Psychiatry to join our team at Weymouth Community Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical services, and contributing to the development of our Older Adult Psychiatry service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical leadership and guidance to junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.
Requirements:
  • Hold a medical qualification (e.g. MBBS, or equivalent) and be registered with the GMC.
  • Have a CCT in Older Adult Psychiatry or be on the Specialist Register in Psychiatry.
  • Have Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval or be able to obtain approval before starting post.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
  • Additional clinical qualification.
  • Experience of medicine outside psychiatry (e.g. general practice, medicine).
