Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and professional PA to join our Senior Leadership Team in Medicine at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive and confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Centre Managers and Operational Managers, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, dealing with staff of all levels inside and outside the Trust.
  • Diary management, prioritisation and delegation of incoming mail and telephone calls.
  • Organisation of meetings, conferences, presentations, workshops and training events, including arranging external speakers and booking venues.
  • Minute taking, action plans and transcription of formal meetings, including Medical Governance and Speciality Management Meetings.
  • Creation and maintenance of databases and spreadsheets.
  • Preparation, typing and distribution of correspondence, reports and ad hoc papers to support the work of the Centre Managers and Clinical Centre.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Evidence of advanced keyboard skills, including minute taking, touch typing and knowledge of NHS policies.
  • Relevant NVQ3 or equivalent qualification, 4 GCSEs (C and above) or equivalent, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Teams, and other IT skills acquired through training and practical experience.
