Job Summary

We are seeking two experienced, enthusiastic, and exceptionally well-organised individuals to support the Surgical Services Management Team and Surgical Matrons. The ideal candidates will be proactive, with excellent computer skills, who can work independently or as part of a team, providing administrative support to all specialities within the Surgery Centre.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Facilitate and coordinate meetings and events, including planning, agendas, minutes, and preparation of room and IT equipment.
  • Provide a comprehensive administrative and PA service to the Surgical Services Management Team and Surgical Matrons.
  • Ensure a high-quality and timely admin support, utilising all Microsoft Office packages, and manage workload to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Process confidential information, including reports, general correspondence, minutes, agendas, and deal with incoming correspondence on a daily basis.
  • Manage payroll input, resolve queries, and ensure appropriate paper-based and electronic filing systems are in place.
  • Develop and maintain bring-forward systems for progress chasing, outstanding enquiries, comments, and actions.
  • Take responsibility for own area of work, prioritising own workload, and ensure any areas of concern are raised timely and appropriately.

About the Role

The successful post holders will work collaboratively to provide administrative support to all specialities within the Surgery Centre, including working with operational and clinical colleagues to cover a variety of tasks. They will be based onsite at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital between two office locations, with flexible hours considered for the successful candidates to meet the needs of the service.
