About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Category Manager to join our team at MKM Building Supplies. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our product categories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Category Management: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive category growth, profitability, and market leadership.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiate commercial terms, and monitor supplier performance to ensure a robust supply chain.
  • Commercial Focus: Analyze sales and margin data, market trends, and customer insights to inform category strategies and drive commercial success.
  • Product Management: Lead product and range reviews to ensure category offerings are relevant, profitable, and meet local market needs.
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting: Regularly review category performance, provide detailed reports, and actionable insights to senior management.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a category management role within the builders merchant or a related sector.
  • Strong understanding of commercial principles and a track record of driving category profitability.
  • Experience working closely with branch networks, understanding their operational needs and challenges.
  • Proficiency in understanding market and category data to inform future decision making.
