Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategies that align with our company's vision of being a leader in the UK's shift towards sustainable building practices and energy solutions.
  • Lead the evolution and implementation of the category strategy for Renewables, Sustainability, and Energy Transition.
  • Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities within these categories.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to align category strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring product quality and availability.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement campaigns that promote the category and educate customers on the benefits of sustainable building practices and energy solutions.
  • Create and deliver training materials and presentations for internal teams and customers to drive category awareness and sales.
  • Regularly analyse sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to measure category performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide detailed reports and insights to senior management on category performance, market conditions, and future opportunities.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in renewable energy, sustainability, and energy transition technologies.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and seminars, establishing the business as a thought leader in the space.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in category management, product management, or a similar role within the builders' merchant or construction industry, with a focus on renewable energy, sustainability, or energy transition.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy products, sustainable building materials, and the energy transition landscape in the UK.
  • Excellent communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market trends to make informed business decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful business development plans across a wide branch network.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative way with our branch network.
