Job Description

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Mentor to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will work with young people with learning disabilities, providing individualised support to help them overcome their barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to students who may be struggling with the curriculum due to their needs.
  • Help to adapt and tailor learning from the class teacher for students so that they can feel and be successful.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, colleagues, and parents/carers via email or phone when necessary.
  • Be a positive role model for students and use the school's reward system fairly to encourage positive attitudes and behaviours.
  • Use classroom behaviour management skills to help students demonstrate positive behaviour and overcome their barriers to learning.

Requirements:

  • Calm and resilient when dealing with situations.
  • Positive can-do attitude and a willingness to join in on class activities.
  • Flexibility within the general day-to-day running of the classroom.
  • Experience of working with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, SEN.
  • Passion and care for children with various learning disabilities.
  • A creative and 'out-the-box' mentality when facilitating learning.
