Job Overview

The National Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a skilled Nuclear Fuel Cycle Development Expert to join their team. This role plays a vital part in the development of the UK fuel cycle, working alongside cutting-edge technology and new processes.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum

Main Responsibilities:
  • The preparation of high-quality metallographic samples for examination.
  • Assisting in the development of techniques for sample production and improving existing methods.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting remote equipment.
  • Ensuring good housekeeping practices are followed at all times.
  • Keeping detailed records of experimental data.
  • Adhering to Health, Safety, Quality, and Security requirements.
  • Providing support for equipment maintenance and commissioning.
  • Developing technical skills and staying up-to-date with industry innovations.
Requirements:
  • Experience in hands-on work with high dexterity and focus.
  • Background in industrial environments with a proven track record of delivering work on time, cost, and quality.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Self-motivation with the ability to use initiative when necessary.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams deploying specially designed equipment.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for maintaining high technical quality standards.
  • British citizenship as defined by the British Nationality Act 1981.
  • Able to obtain SC level security clearance.
