Children's Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced residential children's support worker to join our team in High Wycombe, London. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the care plans, risk assessments, and key working sessions are up-to-date and effectively implemented daily, reflecting best practice and the child's views, wishes, and feelings.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure all care plans, risk assessments, and key working sessions are completed on time and to a high standard.
- To model best practices approaches to working with and supporting children with challenging behaviors.
- To effectively use handovers and debriefs to ensure seamless communication and collaboration with colleagues.
- To complete all daily tasks, including health and safety checks, to ensure a safe and secure environment for the children.
- To participate in the transition process for children entering or leaving the home.
- To ensure that daily practice within the home reflects the company's equality and diversity goals and values.
- To work effectively with external professionals and agencies to provide the best possible care for the children.
- To model best practice approaches during challenging behaviors, ensuring consistent and high-quality care.
- To work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for the children, staff, and the organization.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 1-2 years' experience as a support worker, preferably in a residential childcare setting.
- Diploma level 3 in residential childcare or equivalent qualification.
- An ability to work within a 24/7 operation and cover shift patterns as required.
- A valid DBS check (enhanced) and an ability to pass regular updates.
- Previous experience working with children and young people with EBD, LD, and complex needs/mental health.
- Experience in working within a 24/7 operation and covering shift patterns.
- Ability to participate in debriefs with colleagues who work with challenging behaviors.
- Strong teamworking skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Able to learn and adhere to Ofsted quality standards for children's homes and supported accommodation.
- Previous experience listening to, advocating for, and engaging with decision-making processes for young people.
- A full UK driving license is essential for this role.
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
