Job Title: Payroll Manager

Location: Liverpool city centre, UK

Estimated Salary: £46,000 - £48,000 per annum

The Adaptable Recruitment Careers organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. As a key member of the payroll team, you will be responsible for providing support and deputising for the Payroll Manager during annual leave.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage two payroll officers on a day-to-day basis
  • Provide extensive payroll knowledge and troubleshooting
  • Deal with enquiries from all levels and perform manual calculations
  • Support internal and external auditors
  • Understand accounting and the impact of payroll on the P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Experience of accounts balance sheet reconciliations
  • Understanding of Salary Sacrifice Pensions
  • In-depth knowledge of legislation affecting payroll, minimum wage etc.
  • Research and keep up to date with changes in legislation
  • Full understanding of the production of the PSA (Payroll Summary Report)
  • Full understanding of Benefits in Kind and implications to tax codes

Requirements:
  • Extensive level of payroll knowledge and troubleshooting
  • Ability to deal with enquiries from all levels and perform manual calculations
  • Supporting enquiries from the internal and external auditors
  • Understanding of accounting and the impact that payroll has on the P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Background experience with accounting
  • Experience of accounts balance sheet reconciliations
  • Understanding of Salary Sacrifice Pensions
  • In-depth knowledge of any legislation affecting payroll, minimum wage etc.
