About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optical Department Manager to join our team at Asda Stores Ltd. As a key member of our Optical Department, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the department, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of Optometrists and Optical Assistants to deliver high-quality patient care and achieve department targets.
- Oversee compliance processes and procedures to ensure that the department meets all regulatory requirements.
- Review sales forecasting and department targets to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to drive growth.
- Deal with customer queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Work closely with an Optometrist to coach and develop the team, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
- Manage the shop floor process to ensure that the department is well-equipped to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- A fully qualified dispensing optician registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
- On track to meet the statutory points requirement for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Confident in coaching and developing others.
- Commercially aware and able to drive business growth.
- Able to provide exceptional customer and patient care.
- Driven and ambitious to achieve department targets.
- Proven leadership skills in a fast-paced Optics environment.
- Organized and able to manage time effectively.
