Optical Department Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optical Manager to join our team at Asda Stores Ltd. As a key member of our Optical Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, managing a team of Optometrists and Optical Assistants, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and develop a team of Optometrists and Optical Assistants to deliver exceptional patient care and customer service.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, including GOC standards and Asda's policies and procedures.
- Review sales forecasting and department targets to ensure the Optical Department meets its goals.
- Deal with customer queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Work closely with an Optometrist to coach and develop the team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Fully qualified Dispensing Optician registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
- On track to meet the statutory points requirement for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Confident in coaching and developing others.
- Commercially aware and able to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Able to provide excellent customer and patient care.
- Driven and ambitious to ensure the Optical Department meets its targets.
