Carrington West is seeking a skilled Highway Ordinance Officer to join their team on a permanent basis in South London.



Job Summary

This role is responsible for drafting and processing all Traffic Management Orders (TMOs) and related notices, including highway, planning, parking, and traffic regulations.



Key Responsibilities



  • Draft and process TMOs and notices, including necessary advertising and consultations;

  • Prepare and issue emergency and temporary traffic orders, estimating and recording associated costs, and ensuring payment from outside contractors;

  • Set up and maintain progress report files on all orders and notices, and index of made orders and statutory instruments;

  • Arrange public enquiries, meetings, and respond to queries related to publication of notices;

  • Utilize computer systems, such as word processors, spreadsheets, and databases, to facilitate post functions and stay updated on new technology;

  • Be aware of the overall program of project and scheme works undertaken by the Parking, Transport Planning, Traffic, and Highways departments;

  • Make recommendations to engineers where conflicting measures are identified.



Previous experience in Highways is essential for this role. Carrington West also seeks Engineers and Permitting Officers with similar backgrounds across the South of the UK.



What We Offer

This is a permanent role with a salary range of approximately £35,000 - £50,000 per year, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Highways and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
