About the Role

Kiln Theatre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our café and bar.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff and On-Floor Management: Provide a welcoming presence and set an exemplary example of customer service for the team. Supervise casual catering staff, assign breaks, and ensure excellent service at the bar and café.
  • Finance and Stock: Assist in ordering catering stock, ensuring effective stock supply, rotation, and minimizing wastage. Control daily wastage, record it in the till system, and work with the Catering Manager to review product lists and source new products.
  • Hires and Events: Collaborate with the Catering Manager and Front of House & Events Manager on special catering requests and private events. Lead on the delivery of events and hires as required.
  • Health and Safety, Compliance, and Maintenance: Ensure excellent cleanliness standards throughout the catering and FOH areas. Comply with health and safety regulations, licensing, and insurance requirements.
  • Green and Sustainability: Contribute to Kiln Theatre's goal of reducing its carbon footprint and environmental impact. Source environmentally ethical products and services, and ensure proper waste recycling and single-use plastic reduction.
Person Specification
  • Essential: Experience in hospitality, ideally as a supervisor or shift leader. Experience in coffee making and drinks production, with additional training provided. Experience working in a busy setting handling drinks, food, and taking payments.
  • Desirable: Experience working in a theatre environment.
