Job Description

As a Support Worker at Barker Ross, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and complex needs. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being and safety of our service users, while also promoting their independence and autonomy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and support to service users, including assistance with daily living tasks, mobility, and communication.
  • Assist with the safe lifting, transferring, and repositioning of clients, as well as hoisting and moving and handling.
  • Support service users to access community resources, including healthcare services, education, and leisure activities.
  • Accurately record and maintain records of service user interactions, including care plans and progress notes.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure seamless delivery of care and support services.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in care and support.
Requirements:
  • Experience working in a care and support setting, preferably with individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with service users, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, sleep-ins, and night cover.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
