Care and Support Specialist

As a Support Worker at Barker Ross, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and complex needs. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being and safety of our service users, while also promoting their independence and autonomy.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide personal care and support to service users, including assistance with daily living tasks, mobility, and communication.
- Assist with the safe lifting, transferring, and repositioning of clients, as well as hoisting and moving and handling.
- Support service users to access community resources, including healthcare services, education, and leisure activities.
- Accurately record and maintain records of service user interactions, including care plans and progress notes.
- Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure seamless delivery of care and support services.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in care and support.
- Experience working in a care and support setting, preferably with individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, or complex needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with service users, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends, sleep-ins, and night cover.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
