Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Archives and Records Manager to join our team at Islington Council. As a Heritage Archive Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and promoting access to our historical archives, local history material, and local authority records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain our historical archives, ensuring they are accessible and preserved for future generations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote our archives and local history material to the community.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to build relationships and promote community wellbeing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding data protection and access to information.

Requirements
  • Recognised post-graduate qualification in Archives and Records Management or similar.
  • At least two years' professional archives experience, including working in a community-focused environment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with colleagues, external partners, and community representatives.
