Catalogue Editor (Unlocking Our Sound Heritage)

We are seeking a skilled Catalogue Editor to join our team at the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and amending catalogue records and other metadata for archive sound recordings, supporting rights clearance activities, and contributing to the day-to-day digital data workflows of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive catalogue records for sound archive collections
  • Support the rights clearance process for sound recordings
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure the smooth operation of digital data workflows

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree-level qualification or equivalent
  • Proven experience in cataloguing archive, library, or museum collections

About the Project:

Unlocking Our Sound Heritage is a collaborative project between the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives and the British Library, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project aims to digitally preserve almost half a million endangered sound recordings from across the UK and make 100,000 available online.
