Job Title: Academic Learning Support Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Learning Support Assistant to join our Student Support and Engagement Team. The successful candidate will provide a high-quality, proactive learning support service for students with special educational needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams to ensure students receive equal opportunities to progress
  • Develop and implement strategies to overcome barriers and issues faced by students
  • Keep accurate records and monitor student progress
  • Attend to personal care needs, moving and handling, and medication administration (after training)

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with students with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Knowledge of barriers and issues faced by students with SEN and disabilities
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies to overcome these barriers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
