Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our dedicated team in Taunton. The successful candidate will work with school-aged pupils who have been identified as having Social and Emotional Mental Health needs.

About the Role:

This Behaviour Support Practitioner role involves supporting pupils in the classroom alongside the Class Teacher and other members of support staff. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, understanding, and caring, with excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement behaviour plans
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour
  • Contribute to the development of a safe and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Recent experience working with children or adults with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
