About the Role:

The Data and Analytics Service:

We are the leading provider of Data Services and Advanced Analytics within the public sector in Scotland. Our team designs, develops, and supports integrated data and analytical platforms for NHS Scotland, underpinning Scotland's reputation as a world leader in health informatics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and build innovative data, business intelligence, and analytics solutions.
  • Assist in the technical analysis of requirements and specifications.
  • Build complex data processing and data wrangling routines.
  • Build enterprise-wide business intelligence front-end solutions.
  • Proactively contribute to service improvement.
  • Engage with users and colleagues across the business intelligence team.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience of implementing innovative data, business intelligence, and analytics solutions.
  • Knowledge of building data products (including ETL/ELT).
  • Writing and management of code for the analysis and processing of data.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Passion to make a difference.
  • Desire to excel within a high-performing team.
  • Appetite for lifelong learning and growth.
  • Ability to confidently contribute to overall success of the service.
  • Interest in current state and future trends in business intelligence and analytics with willingness to dive deeper into the detail when required.
  • Desire to support other members of the team.

Location and Working Pattern:

Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.

Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week – hybrid working options available.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
