About the Role:

National Services Scotland (NSS) is a leading provider of data services and advanced analytics within the public sector in Scotland. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic data and advanced analytics professional to join our team as a Senior Technical Consultant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture, design, development, and implementation of innovative data, business intelligence, and analytics solutions.
  • Make key design and engineering decisions, assessing and managing the risk involved.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to technical delivery teams.
  • Ensure quality of developments and smooth transition to business as usual.
  • Own design and development processes and standards.
  • Contribute to technical strategy and service improvement.
  • Engage with stakeholders and users.
  • Assess, scope, and estimate demand.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience of planning and leading the design, development, and implementation of innovative data, business intelligence, and analytics solutions.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of data solutions architecture.
  • Thorough knowledge of building data products, including ETL/ELT.
  • Technical leadership experience, including strong and effective communication skills and stakeholder engagement and management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Passion to make a difference.

  • Appetite for lifelong learning and growth.
  • Ability to constructively challenge and confidently lead the overall success of a service.

Location and Working Pattern:

This post can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Monday to Friday, 37 hours - hybrid working options available.

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
