Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Support Specialist to join our team in Bournemouth. As a Behavioural Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students' social and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Behaviour Support Planning: Assist in the implementation of behaviour support plans (BSPs) developed by teachers and SENCO, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Student Support: Offer one-on-one or small group support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to understand and manage their emotions and behaviours in various settings.
  • Positive Behaviour Reinforcement: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting and reinforcing positive behaviour and social skills among students.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals to develop and review behaviour intervention strategies tailored to individual student needs.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor student behaviour and progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as necessary.
  • Lesson Support: Assist teachers in maintaining a productive learning environment by implementing proactive strategies and providing support during lessons.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience working with students with behavioural challenges in an educational or similar setting.
  • Behaviour Management: Understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Empathy, patience, and resilience to effectively support students in managing their behaviour and emotions.
  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, contributing to a positive school community.
