About the Role

GSL Education - Bournemouth is seeking a skilled Behavioural Support Specialist to join our team as a Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children who have barriers to learning and provide high-quality support and tailored provision to pupils who need additional support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with behavioural and learning challenges, promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the school's SENCO and other professionals to create tailored intervention plans, ensuring the overall well-being of students and contributing to a positive school ethos.
  • Support the development of behaviour management strategies and their application in a school environment, demonstrating a patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Work closely with the school's staff to ensure a seamless integration of support services, promoting a culture of inclusivity and respect.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting, with a strong understanding of behaviour management strategies.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or psychology, with a patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • A DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
