Position Overview:

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated Mentors to deliver personalized support to young individuals in need of guidance. Our organization collaborates with local educational institutions and councils across the South Coast to enhance the learning experience for those who are currently outside the traditional educational framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to primary and secondary students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Engage with students who may be disengaged from mainstream education.
  • Work collaboratively with educational staff to develop effective strategies for student engagement.

Position Details:

Location: Various locations in the South Coast area

Role: Mentor

Hours: Flexible hours ranging from 2 to 15 hours per week per student

Schedule: Available for 5 days a week, with sessions lasting 2 to 3 hours each day

Ongoing Support:
We are committed to providing continuous support to our mentors, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed in their roles.

Qualifications:
  • Experience working with students with SEND or those who are disengaged from education.
  • Prior experience in a UK classroom setting or equivalent 1:1 mentoring experience.
  • Creative, patient, and adaptable approach to mentoring.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to apply for a new one.
  • Two professional references related to child care.
