About the Role:

GSL Education is seeking a Behavioural Support Specialist to join our team at a local primary school in Bournemouth. As a Behavioural Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies to create a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with behavioural and learning challenges, helping them to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with the school's SENCO and other professionals to develop tailored intervention plans that meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Contribute to the overall well-being of students and help to create a positive school ethos that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting, with a focus on behaviour management and support.
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and their application in a school environment, including the use of positive reinforcement techniques and de-escalation methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other professionals.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or psychology, or a related field, would be advantageous.
