About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a school in Bournemouth. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour and fostering a supportive learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Behaviour Management: Assist teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and reduce challenging behaviour.
  • Student Support: Provide one-on-one support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to develop social skills, communication skills, and independence.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the school's SENCO and other professionals to create tailored intervention plans to support students with diverse needs.
  • Well-being: Support the overall well-being of students and contribute to a positive school ethos.
Requirements
  • Experience: Relevant experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Qualifications: Understanding of behaviour management strategies and their application in a school environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs. Relevant qualifications in education or psychology would be advantageous.
  • Eligibility: Have the right to work in the UK. Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
