About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a key role in supporting the development of our Speech and Language Therapy clinical pathways and service offer for our specialist mental health inpatient service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of the SLT service within inpatient specialist mental health services.
  • Carry a caseload, completing assessments and interventions, including assessment and management of communication needs, dysphagia/eating and drinking difficulties.
  • Advise on inclusive communication strategies for people with a range of mental health needs and co-occurring conditions.
  • Offer advice, training, and consultation to other clinicians and support staff.
  • Take a key role in improving the identification and support of people on the autistic spectrum.
