About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in the inpatient mental health services. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of the SLT service and working with individuals with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry a caseload of assessments and interventions, including communication needs, dysphagia, and eating and drinking difficulties.
  • Advise on inclusive communication strategies for individuals with a range of mental health needs and co-occurring conditions.
  • Offer advice, training, and consultation to other clinicians and support staff.
  • Take a key role in improving the identification and support of people on the autistic spectrum.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of attendance at relevant short courses.
  • Desirable: DISCO or ADOS/ADI-R trained, post-basic dysphagia qualification, leadership qualification.
