Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at River Tyne Academy Gateshead. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a wide range of teaching and learning activities, including planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons.
  • Assist and support the work of qualified teachers with individual pupils, small groups, and whole classes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the development of pupils' skills and knowledge, including literacy and numeracy.
  • Contribute to the assessment and evaluation of pupils' progress, including the use of data and other assessment tools.
  • Support the implementation of school policies and procedures, including those related to behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding.
Requirements
  • GCSEs in English and mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Experience of working with young people in a teaching or support role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
