About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning at a fantastic school in Gateshead. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both students and teachers, ensuring a positive learning environment and helping students achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in planning and delivering lessons.
  • Lead small group interventions.
  • Provide one-to-one support for students who need additional help.
  • Assist with managing classroom behaviour.
  • Cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Contribute to the assessment and progress tracking of students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A passion for helping students succeed academically and personally.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service.
