The role involves working with young people aged 4-18, providing 24/7 care and support in a residential setting. You will be part of a dynamic team that works together to provide a safe and supportive environment for all young people.

A typical day in the life at Rhos Cottage is varied and fulfilling:

  • Supporting physical and emotional needs to ensure young people feel safe and cared for;
  • Being a positive role model and encouraging healthy choices;
  • Promoting independence by supporting a range of activities, such as social outings, work, and school-based tasks;
  • Adapting support to individual needs, including assisting with decision-making and problem-solving;
  • Maintaining accurate records of activities, progress, and any incidents;
  • General housekeeping duties, including meal preparation.

Key Requirements
  • A strong passion for working with young people and making a positive impact on their lives;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people and colleagues alike;
  • Resilience and adaptability when working with complex emotional and behavioral needs;
  • A valid driver's license and flexibility around shift times;
  • Compassion, empathy, and great communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Reliability-being punctual and trustworthy is essential in this role.
