Job Summary:

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Primary Care Pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Support Worker. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in routine tasks and work autonomously, requiring a moderate degree of technical expertise.
  • Discuss use of medicines over the phone with patients, providing excellent patient care and support.
  • Coordinate the collection of information, input and analyze data, update clinical records as appropriate, and collate information in support of quality medication reviews or cost efficiency programs.
  • Work primarily within our Northeast Pharmacy Hub, supporting the delivery of the pharmacotherapy service as part of the GP contract.
  • Collaborate with GPs, primary care multidisciplinary teams, and care homes to improve medicines management and deliver excellent patient care.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Strong technical skills, including data analysis and record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of medicines management and pharmacotherapy principles.
