About the Role:

Gowling WLG is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Clerk to support the Real Estate Group in handling volume transactions on a 3-month fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing files, dealing with post, and performing various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage files and documents in our case management system, ensuring timely completion and archiving of files.
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing post, including scanning, copying, and eFiling documents.
  • Perform conflict checks, requesting conflict searches and reviewing results for team members.
  • Conduct searches using the Land Registry online portal and other providers.
  • Communicate with clients, agents, and third parties via phone, email, or in person.
  • Manage deeds, logging, recording, and maintaining records of deeds received and dispatched.
  • Process matter closures, transferring WIP, and other financial requests for the Group.
  • Scan, upload, download, and eFile documents, correspondence, and other communications via online portals, deal rooms, or data rooms.
About You:

We are looking for a candidate with experience in customer service or administration, who is able to work in an inclusive, sharing, and collaborative culture. Previous experience in a legal or professional services environment is beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided.
