Learning Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Adult Education Tutor to join our team at the National Skills Agency.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning services to adult learners in a rail industry context.
Main Responsibilities:
- Scheme Development: Develop schemes of work, programme timelines, and assessment schedules for cohorts.
- Material Preparation: Prepare all materials required for teaching days, including contextualised content.
- Teaching Delivery: Deliver engaging and interactive content that meets the needs of adult learners.
- Assessment and Record-Keeping: Set assessments for cohorts within OneFile and record attendance at teaching sessions.
- Individual Learning Plans: Create and prepare individual learning plans that support learners' needs.
- Progress Monitoring: Review and update information held on portfolios, including progress, status changes, functional skills, and additional learning support.
- Departmental Support: Assist in the consistent implementation of day-to-day departmental processes and systems.
- Quality Assurance: Engage with quality assurance procedures to ensure standards are met.
- Additional Tasks: Undertake additional tasks as necessary to support the delivery of high-quality services.
Requirements:
- Teaching Experience: Experience of teaching in an adult education setting using andragogical teaching methods.
- Learner Engagement: Ability to engender the confidence of adult learners and employers in teaching in its broadest sense.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of apprenticeships policy and practice, as well as the rail industry and regulation, would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Emotional Intelligence: Demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence, encompassing self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and social skills.
