About the Role

Parker Young Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a leading Global FMCG company to identify a Customer Manager, tasked with managing and growing the relationship with key customers in the Discount and Convenience channels.

Our client is open to a range of experience and knowledge, and the role could be suited to either an existing NAM/Customer Manager or an experienced NAE with strong Discounter/Convenience experience, looking for the opportunity to have full ownership of budget/target volume, contribution, and non-financial KPIs for your customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop in-year/3-year plans for growth with the customers, focusing on growing volume, profitability, and mix, in line with business and sales strategy.
  • Ensure visibility to key stakeholders of customer plan and priorities, with influence of prioritization within business when necessary for opportunity development.
  • Develop, negotiate, and manage Joint Business Plans (JBPs) delivering internal and external KPIs.
  • Manage the budgeting, pricing, forecasting, and promotional activities for the customer in line with S&OP process. Monitor performance variance to plan.
  • Communicate and manage Customer risks and drive delivery of all opportunities.
  • Work closely with the category, marketing, and project teams to deliver growth opportunities for the business through maximizing range, seasonal activity, and innovation specific to the channel.
  • Deliver an appropriate promotional plan for the customers, manage the process internally, with focus on alignment with the retail channel.
Requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of Euros and High Street Discounters, along with a knowledge of the convenience landscape ideally.
  • Skilled communicator, with the ability to influence and manage change.
  • Strong ability and experience of negotiation in Customer environment.
  • Willingness to adapt the role and learn new skills.
  • Self-motivated to achieve objectives and proactively keep key stakeholders in the business informed.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and demonstrate a high level of verbal and numerical ability.
