Volunteer Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Volunteer Officer to join our Conservation and Engagement team at Chester Zoo. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of our volunteering programs and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the administration of volunteers, including rotas, supervision, and recruitment.
- Assist in the development of volunteer roles and activities to engage visitors and amplify conservation campaigns.
- Ensure all volunteering activities and roles are safe and risk-assessed.
- Plan and deliver volunteer events and projects to recognize and value volunteers' contributions.
What We Offer:
- A six-month fixed-term contract with potential to extend.
- 35 hours per week within a 10-in-14 day roster system, including weekends and Bank Holidays.
- 33 days annual leave pro rata.
- A salary of £25,036.23.

Requirements:
- Experience in working with and supervising volunteers, including administration and recruitment.
- A demonstrable understanding of safeguarding issues and risk assessment.
- A passion for volunteering and its impact on individuals and organizations.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with experience in delivering engaging training sessions.
- Excellent organizational skills, including time management, administration, and planning.
