We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Volunteer Officer to join our Conservation and Engagement team at Chester Zoo. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our volunteering programmes and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the administration of volunteers, including rotas, supervision, and recruitment.
  • Assist in the development of volunteer roles and activities to engage visitors and amplify conservation campaigns.
  • Ensure all volunteering activities and roles are safe and risk assessed.
  • Plan and deliver volunteer events and projects to recognize and value volunteers' contributions.

Requirements:

  • Experience in working with and supervising volunteers, including administration and recruitment.
  • A demonstrable understanding of safeguarding issues and risk assessment.
  • A passion for volunteering and its impact on individuals and organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with experience in delivering engaging training sessions.
