Site Agent

This role will be based from our Dartford office during the day, with the work predominantly planned at night all over the network. There will be an expectation for some ad hoc visits to site at night.

Main Duties:
  • Management of site staff operatives and sub-contractors.
  • Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments, and project management plans.
  • Understand tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets.
  • Preparing and monitoring programmes of work.
  • Assessment and engagement of sub-contractors.
  • Manage design co-ordination.
  • Manage contracts to ensure timely and profitable completion of contracts.
  • Inform, consult, and involve local groups as necessary.
  • Foster good relations and reputation with clients.
  • Understand and administer contract change.

Already experienced as a Site Agent, you will have a relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng) or equivalent and an up-to-date SMSTS qualification, and appropriate CSCS card. A First Aid at work qualification is desirable.

You will also have experience of managing civil engineering projects with a main contractor, along with previous experience on Highways, Earthworks, and Structures experience.

Requirements:
  • Be able to maintain and monitor works against a programme and budget.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload.
  • Able to run multiple complex and non-complex sites.
  • Maintain comprehensive records.
  • Have compliance with current legislation requirements, including the production and implementation of RAMs and other associated safety/project documentation.
  • The ability to forecast cost and programme.

You will have experience in the UK civils sector, working with the NEC form of contract. You must also have a relevant industry qualification (SMSTS or equivalent). You will have significant main contractor civils experience ideally in Environment Agency schemes including earthworks.
